What Eating Healthy Feels Like
I don't know about you but when my refridgerator runs out of my favorite fresh fruits, I'm not at my best. I don't feel as good and I have a hard time picking something to eat. I absolutely love fresh strawberries and fresh blueberries. They are my absolute favorites.
Blueberries are gobbled up in a few minutes in my home. I have 4 toddlers and they all love berries too. We just can't get enough.
Unfortunately, eating healthy is also very expensive. For one little half pint of blueberries, you might pay up to $3.99! It's highway robbery! Just as milk has gone up, so has everything else, including other healthy foods that people need. I buy frozen berries too but they just don't taste as good and they usually turn into mush by the time they thaw out. I've tried thawing fruit out in a variety of ways but it always turns out mushy.
Eating healthy gives me a certain level of energy that just can't be matched by other foods. Berries make me feel good about myself because I know they're healthy for me and they are the one thing I will eat without complaining!
Even foods that have blueberries or strawberries in them like boxed waffles or muffins just don't compare to eating them fresh and plain. I never use sugar on my fruit either.
I remember when I used to work in the orchard. It was a summer job for me during my teen years. We were allowed to eat some strawberries and raspberries as we were picking. Boy! Was that good! The sunshine seems to really bring out the flavor. I've always had fond memories of working there despite the fact that it did not pay very well. I had access to all the berries I wanted!
If you like berries as much as I do, please leave some comments. I'd love to hear about your berry experiences. :D
